How To View Your Tax Map

A Tax Map is an approximate drawing by the State of Maryland of the property.  A Tax Map is not a survey or a subdivision plat. The Tax Map will not show the dimensions of the lot or where the house or any other improvements are located on the lot, but there are certain situations when viewing the Tax Map is very useful. While most properties are shown on a Tax Map, all properties do not show up on the Tax Maps. However, for those that are shown on the Tax Map, fortunately Maryland makes it easy to access that Tax Map. Below we take you through the process.

For all Maryland counties except Baltimore City

Step 1) Start at the SDAT website. Select your County and click “Street Address”. Then enter the number and street name. Be careful not to enter the street name suffix (Road, Street, Avenue, etc.). Click on the Search button.

Step 2) Once your property page opens up, locate your Tax Map by looking for the link at the top of your property page entitled "View Map". Click the "View Map" link. Your property should have a small red dot.

For Baltimore City properties

Step 1) Start at the Baltimore City Tax page.  Enter the property address. Be careful not to enter the street name suffix (Road, Street, Avenue, etc.). Click on the Search button.

Step 2) Once your property page opens up, click on the link entitled "View" which is located under the word "Map" on the right side of the page about halfway down. Your Tax Map should open. Note that this page seems to work with Internet Explorer, but not all browsers.
